Poetry, loops and alcohol ink art. This poem explored relationship with our ancestors and the gifts and scars that are passed on through generations. A collaboration between my mother Maija Hansen and myself, which was published in the third edition of Kontradiktion Online magazine in spring 2024.
Working with communities over the years has heightened my awareness to mass change, politics, the ever changing world and how people are impacted. This brings up new ponderings and sometimes random questions. This piece explores one of those questions.

This is a snapshot into who I am. I have been mulling over what to share and what not to share about myself and whether or not its relevant for the work that I do. Wondering how much noise to make about things that matter to me. Wondering where to raise issues, where to express concern about things that have an impact on others in the world. It's the forever question of maybe being too much.
But this is part of who I am. I am also an activist.
