Pia Hansen is a vocalist, artist, writer and community worker with a focus on enhancing people’s wellbeing by using the voice.
Her 15 years of community work in London brings knowledge of mental health, trauma and the challenges of keeping well in todays world. The work has included coaching, training and mentoring people which has contributed to her deep understanding of how to support people and how to ensure that her approach varies depending on the audience.
She has many decades of writing and singing experience including performing at ceremonies and spoken word events. Her focus at the moment is on poetry and the use of vocal loops to create music and art work.
In 2019 she completed a year long intensive training with Briony Greenhill, Singing the Unseen. This was an extraordinary journey and deep dive into collaborative vocal improvisation(CVI) and singing for ceremony and ritual. She continued training with Briony and with Guillermo Rozenthuler, including CVI facilitator training. Briony and Guillermos teaching has evolved from the work of Bobby McFerrin and Rhiannon among other pioneers in this field. She currently runs a monthly collaborative vocal improv group.
Wishing to merge the worlds and passions of song and community work, she recently completed her diploma in Group Voice Arts Therapy from the British Institute of Sound Therapies.
Her roots are Finnish and Danish. She moved to Finland from London in 2020 with her growing family.
